Who attended the wedding? v.1 mother, disciples, & probably relatives

v.12 probably brothers

v.4 Why does Jesus call His mother "Woman" or "Dear Woman"? Are there any passages where He does call her "mother"? A: His origin of life does not have its source from her - His human mother; He calls God His "Father"

What does Jesus mean "His time has not yet come"? A: to reveal His true identity

v.5 Why did Mary say this? Had Jesus ever performed any miracles - public or private - before the general start of His public ministry? A: probably not - see v.11 - attracts too much attention & publicity

v.10 Is Jesus promoting alcoholism or drunkenness here? He made at least 120 gallons of wine? A: wine = grape wine - excellent taste & quality, better than the best offered at the wedding, but we don't know the alcohol content

Is drinking forbidden in Scriptures? A: No - only drunkenness - see Eph. 5:18

v.11 What were the results or impact of this miracle?

1. to reveal His glory - who He really is - control over nature

2. disciples believed

3. a witness to His relatives, the servants, wedding attenders, etc.

v.12 Is this verse good evidence that Jesus had half-brothers & therefore that Mary was not a virgin her whole life? A: yes. it lists 'brothers' & 'mother' & 'disciples' separately. He probably did not have any other followers this early in His ministry.

Did Jesus' brothers believe in Him before the cross? A: No, at least not during the initial part of His public ministry - see Jn. 7:5

Where is Jesus' step-father Joseph? Is he mentioned during any of Jesus' public ministry? A: probably died before this point in time. While on the cross, Jesus appointed responsibility of taking care of His mother to John - see Jn. 19:26-27
