Church-planting:  Failure Dynamics - Some Observed Dynamics That Contributed To The Failure Of Church-plants

FAILURE OF GOD'S PEOPLE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY SACRIFICES:
- -  A primary general reason why church-plants do not succeed is because God's people and/or God's servants fail or downright refuse to make the sacrifices that are necessary for the church-plant to sufficiently develop, progress, and come to viability and self-sustaining.  Apparently, they fail to realize and/or accept the importance that church-planting plays in God's program to build His kingdom.
- - To substantiate these assertions from the Scriptures, and in brief:
- - - -
since the time of Jesus Christ on this earth, the church is the main element in God's program (Matthew 16:18);
- - - - through the church, the gospel is preached to the world (Ephesians 3:4-10);
- - - - during the early time of the Apostle Paul's ministry to share the gospel with the Gentiles and plant churches among them, the Philippian church was the only church who had enough concern for him and his church-planting ministry work to therein send support to him, and repeatedly
(Philippians 4:10 with verses 4:15-16 and verse 1:5).

INABILITY TO SECURE AN ADEQUATE PLACE TO MEET:
- - The rental costs for a small building were far too high for the small church-plant group to afford.
- - The only financially-affluent benefactor in the group was unwilling to make the needed outlay long-term.

SINFUL BEHAVIORS OF A CO-LEADER:
- - A male co-leader on the church-plant team was sinfully super-critical, demanding, quick-tempered, and physically-aggressive towards the other male co-leader on the team.  These sinful behaviors of the demanding co-leader were not known to the other co-leader prior to the forming and starting of the team.

CHURCH-PLANT FATIGUE:
- - The church-plant had not grown in attendance numbers since the small church-plant team started a few years prior.  So, they got tired of exerting the effort, and decided to end the project and disband.

RIGID STANCE OF A VIRTUALLY-DEAD CHURCH:
- - The few remaining and elderly congregants of a virtually-dead church in an older but nice church building were not willing to merge with nor sufficiently-accommodate the church-plant group, who were of a slightly- different denomination.

SUBSTANTIAL DEFICIENCY IN THE PREACHING:
- - The church-plant team implemented the policy of weekly rotating the preaching among various persons who attended their worship services, most of whom obviously and miserably failed to produce even minimally-good sermons with sound doctrine and appropriate interpretation of the verses that they selected.

OUTRIGHT OPPOSITION TO THE PREACHING OF SOUND DOCTRINES:
- - Some persons in the church-plant group strongly opposed and openly objected to the sound doctrines that were being preached directly from the Scriptures by a co-leader.
